Winter is the season of contemplation, and planning for  the next growth cycle.  In the Midwest it is also the time of year we need to work at staying warm.  The winter session will focus upon a heat generating practice offered with a meditative focus;  sun salutations approached as meditation in motion.   During the winter it is important to  balance kapha– the principle related to inertia, heaviness and liver congestion.   Emphasis will be placed upon alignment while practicing a flow based practice.  The meditative practices of yin yoga and restorative yoga, in addition to seated meditation are used to help cultivate mindful awareness.
